wall art created for my 3d class.
the assignment was to somehow combine two objects to make into a wooden piece. i chose typography and leaves (predictable)

materials: pine, stain, polyurethane, twine, metal wire.
shop equipment: panel saw, bandsaw, jigsaw, spindle sander, belt sander, circular sander, drill press. (yeah, i'm proud.)

i forgot to measure it on the wall, but i think that the 'a' is about 20 inches tall, and the whole thing is two inches thick.

next project: metal birds! (also predictable)

NICE!
Great cuts... bandsaw or what?

Reminds me, I recently made a wood/terrarium typeface ^^; I'll get around to uploading that stuff eventually.

This is really beautiful though.

do you really?
at mcad you can't use the metal shop or wood shop until you've taken 3d, but 3d is a required foundation course for us so really anyone can use it. but yeah, there's a lot of equipment; i'm not sure how it compares to other schools exactly but it's nice. :]
