Artist's Commentsthis began as a painting of jd salinger's character, franny glass, with the intention of having a full background and a hand holding a cigarette. unfortunately, due to my utter lack of free time, i probably won't finish it as planned any time soon. the version you see here was done for a school-wide project at mcad, in which we were told to create a "letter" to the next president of the united states. you can read more about it here. the basic idea behind my image is that we're all sort of held at gunpoint by the obligations and expectations that are thrust upon us by our government, by organizations, by society. you can go where ever you want with the concept from there, it's open to interpretation. if anyone is interested in prints, drop me a note -- prices start at $7 for a 8.5"x11" (plus shipping) and i can make prints up to 35" wide. done in photoshopcs3 with wacom intuos3 tablet. facial reference used: "window" by ~Little-spazStock. Comments It looks fantastic. :)

Very good use of subtle tones and the basic forms of the gun work well with the plain background. The expression is great and as per usual the painting is on par with the quality of professional illustrators.

The skin, the hair... oh god it's a whole new level of smooth (but not so smooth that it looks inauthentic) and the dress... gah the textures all look so real. You amaze me, seriously.  -- DON'T YOU TOUCH MY SUSPENDERS.  this is SO good... I might be in touch for a print
