"The person you love is 72.8% water." - Alan Fletcher
I PROMISE TO STOP USING THIS QUOTE NOW. I made this for my Artists' Books class a couple months back. It was a quick one-week assignment that I kind of went overachievey on. It's an accordion book with vellum sections pamphlet-stitched into it to create three parts: one for each human, bird, and plant anatomy. All the imagery was scanned from library reference books, digitally colorized and arranged, and printed back out. I chose images that highlight the ambiguity between these three forms of life... The deeper you get into each section, the more the boundaries between things like veins and roots seem to disintegrate. It simply amazes me that when you examine everything very closely, you start to realize the extent to which we are made up of all the same bits and pieces as everything else.
I like the concept but the construction is a little iffy. I might redo it someday.
Also, I have a major issue with deviantART's categorical system, because artist books do not belong under 'crafts.'
i believe it varies from person to person. usually i hear it's a bit higher than 72%, actually. but i don't want to change the number because i'm quoting someone else's idea and using it as a conceptual framework, and i don't want to discredit the source. it's okay with me if it's not entirely accurate, i'm more concerned with the meaning behind it :]
NOt only is this a phenomenal concept, but you actually put forth the effort into making it. Masterfully done and creative, I really love that you put all life forms in it; human, plant and animal. Beautiful, and you should totally market this to a company that can print it on recycled paper.

This feature was brought together by my watchers and hours of browsing galleries for inspiring pieces that have gone unnoticed. Here are the results, one hundred beautiful photographs with under one hundred favorites. Let's give these artists the attention they deserve <3
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

but is the title actually accurate? I hear lots of different percentages of how much water is in a human body.
